Darcy (boy)

I have a friend who was trying to think of what she would name her future child. When I told her I wanted to name mine Darcy, she flipped out (in a good way). She said she immediately thought of the dark, brooding Mr. Darcy in Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. That's the association I have as well. I can only picture Darcy on a dark haired little boy (because it means "dark") and I can only picture it on a boy with a handsome face and proper manners. It's a romantic name, but I don't see that as being a bad quality at all.

Many people associated Darcy with Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the male protagonist of Jane Austen's 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice.
